Blaine R. Renfert is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the firm's Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling and Real Estate Practices.
Mr. Renfert counsels individuals, partnerships, businesses and national companies on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, finance, real estate and securities law matters. Mr. Renfert's approach is to combine practical business sense with vigorous negotiation and precise legal craftsmanship. He prides himself on his understanding of client needs and his ability to address a wide range of legal issues.
A good deal of Mr. Renfert's practice involves corporate and commercial law matters. Mr. Renfert has represented buyers and sellers in more than 450 purchases and sales of businesses over the past 24 years.

A Madison native, Mr. Renfert is active in civic and community affairs. He coached youth soccer, officiated at swim meets and served as a Boy Scout leader. He has also served as a volunteer for United Way of Dane County in various leadership positions. He is on the board of directors of the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation (sponsor of the Badger State Games) and the Center for Advanced Studies in Business. Mr. Renfert is a graduate of Leadership Greater Madison.
Mr. Renfert graduated, with honors, in 1987 from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was associate editor of the Michigan Law Review. He received his bachelor's degree, with distinction, in history and political science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1984, and studied at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England.
