Brad is a principal in the Rockville office of Miles & Stockbridge. A lifetime resident of Montgomery County, Mr. Bernstein's practice includes general civil litigation for individuals and businesses of all sizes, including many of the Firm's real estate and financial institution clients. Brad is the Co-Chair of the Firm's Title Insurance Defense Team. Brad has successfully litigated cases in State and Federal trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge in 1999, Brad served as the law clerk for the Honorable S. Michael Pincus in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.
Brad has been very active in the legal community and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Inn of Court. Over the past five years, Brad has served as the Chair of the High School Mock Trial Competition, Chair of the Bar Association and Bar Foundation Annual Meeting and Sponsorship Chair of the Bar Foundations' Golf and Tennis Charity Classic. His work over the years has garnered many awards, including the Presidents Citation for Outstanding Service to the Bar Foundation in 2009, the Community Service Award in both 2006 and 2007 from the Montgomery County Bar Foundation and the Committee Chair of the Year in 2004 from the Montgomery County Bar Association. Brad received his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University School of Law, where he graduated with Honors. Brad obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he also graduated Cum Laude, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Brad is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell (the highest level of professional excellence), was recognized as a Future Star in Benchmark Litigation 2011: The Guide to America's Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys, and was selected as a Rising Star in the area of Business Litigation in the 2011 edition of Maryland Super Lawyers.
