Biography

Brandon Barnes is a senior associate in the Litigation Group and the Banking & Financial Services Group of Davis LLP's Toronto office.

Brandon’s practice focuses on securities and banking litigation, with an emphasis on non-traditional capital structures. His clients include foreign financial institutions, private investors, emerging market issuers, and other corporate entities. He also acts for politically-exposed persons and clients with sensitive or confidential business interests. He has appeared before trial and appellate courts, with a professional preference for alternative dispute resolution and negotiation.

In addition to his advocacy practice, Brandon also advises on international legal risk management, with a focus on corruption avoidance and business integrity. He is regularly involved in cross-border asset tracing, and also advises on the anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering regulatory frameworks of Canada and the United Kingdom.

Brandon is licensed to practise law in Ontario, Alberta, and England & Wales, and practises in both English and French.
