Brett is an experienced trial lawyer who is head of the firm's litigation practice. He began his practice focusing on commercial litigation with a national firm in Washington, D.C. Subsequently, he returned to his home town of Cleveland, Ohio and continued to focus on business litigation including in the areas of securities and contract disputes. Since joining the firm, Brett has continued his work for a diverse client base from small entrepreneurial entities to large public companies. He has worked on diverse matters from quickly growing non-compete injunctive actions to elongated federal securities class-actions. Brett has a significant practice representing clients in the areas of both: (1) State Attorney General reviews and investigations of business practices relating to consumer sales; and (2) business planning and litigation involving the Ohio Alcoholic Beverages Franchise Act. From 2008 to 2011, Brett has been named an Ohio Litigation Super Lawyer, a distinction bestowed on the top 5% of licensed attorneys in the state as determined by their peers. Community Involvement Brett is a Board Member of both the Positive Education Program, a non-profit agency which provides the community's children with quality education and mental health services, and Camp Wise, a summer camp providing year round retreat space, located in Chardon, Ohio. |
