Brian Calla concentrates his practice in the area of general civil litigation with a particular emphasis on mass tort litigation and product liability. Brian serves as an Electronic Discovery Special Masters (EDSM) panel member for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Representative Matters
· Implementation and management of numerous large scale document production projects involving teams of attorneys preparing millions of physical and electronic documents from several databases for litigation production. These projects range from large multi-jurisdictional mass tort litigation to large-scale employment law cases and government compliance review matters;
· Assists in leading firm-wide document review team of more than 200 attorneys, including the development, implementation, and execution of e-discovery best practices and protocol;
· Manages teams of attorneys and staff providing extended deposition and trial support for multiple complex litigations;
· Assists in overseeing all phases of the discovery process including custodian identification, retention, collection, processing, review, and post-production litigation support;
· Works closely with numerous e-discovery vendors providing feedback and suggestions regarding the design and development of advanced electronic discovery technology for use by Eckert Seamans.
