Brian Jarman is an associate in the Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg and a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Department. Mr. Jarman focuses his practice on patent prosecution and various other patent matters.
While attending law school, Mr. Jarman was a law clerk in the firm's Indianapolis office. During that time he assisted in preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications in the United States and foreign jurisdictions. Before that, he was a system design engineer for Siemens Corporation. As a lead engineer, he was responsible for the design and servicing of air handling control systems, fuel gas treatment systems, cooling towers, and power plants.
Mr. Jarman received a B.S. in mechanical engineering with a co-operative education certificate in 2005 from Purdue University School of Mechanical Engineering. While attending Purdue, he led a team of 21 senior mechanical engineers in designing and building the drive train for Purdue University's Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) Grand Challenge Generation II vehicle. He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was a member of the Dean's Tutorial Society and associate editor for the Indiana Law Review.
Mr. Jarman is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
