Brian is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. His practice includes counseling companies of all stages research institutions, and inventors in how to protect and grow their intellectual property assets. He has significant experience in the computer software and mechanical arts, particularly in medical devices, data security, research tools, and video games. He is also experienced in helping companies identify, protect, and manage their trademarks, both in the United States and throughout the world.

· Advised two venture-backed life sciences clients in preparation and prosecution of patents in the field of high-throughput research tools leading to acquisition of each client by separate industry leaders in the research and diagnostics field.
· Drafts and prosecutes patent applications for leading universities and teaching hospitals.
· Counsels clients on administrative and judicial challenges to Patent Term Adjustment determinations and prosecution strategies for maximizing Patent Term Adjustment awards.

Before Edwards Wildman
At Suffolk University Law School, Brian served as Managing Editor of the Journal of High Technology Law, where he oversaw the editing and production of issues discussing topics including the International Trade Commission, Russian copyright law, anti-counterfeiting strategies for business, corporate blogging policies, and legal obstacles to tele-medicine. Brian authored a note on the parody defense to trademark infringement.
Prior to law school, Brian earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where his senior thesis included the application of a novel computer-aided verification algorithm to a complex U.S. Army command and control simulator. Brian worked for two months in Copenhagen, Denmark studying the economics of organic food.
Besides Edwards Wildman
Brian thoroughly enjoys cooking, hiking, and canoeing with his wife. He is attempting to learn the game of golf (with mixed success).
