Biography

Brian Koide is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Group, where he specializes in patent litigation. For more than a decade, he has litigated patent infringement disputes involving a wide range of technologies, including software, wireless communications, graphic user interfaces, consumer electronics, commercial vehicles, digital cameras, electronic payment systems, on-line auctions, digital-image processing, and speech compression.

As a registered patent attorney with an engineering degree, Brian combines his patent, litigation, and technical expertise to effectively represent his clients. Brian is experienced in all phases of patent litigation, from pre-suit counseling through trial and appeal. Brian's patent infringement cases have run the gamut from disputes between Fortune 50 companies to individual inventors.

Brian received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of California, San Diego. Brian is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the District of Maryland and the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to entering the legal field, Brian worked as an aerospace engineer.

Brian serves as a Vice Chair on the Firm's Recruiting Committee and Co-Chair to the Firm's DC Office Summer Associate Committee.

· WABCO Holdings v. Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems (D. N.J.) (obtained stay pending reexamination on behalf of Bendix in a patent infringement action involving gas compressors).
