The firm was founded in 1957 by Harris W. Fawell, U.S. Congressman from the Illinois 13th Congressional District. The firm was known as Fawell, James and Brooks from 1974 until January 1, 1990. The firm's partners and associates continue their professional leadership by active participation in continuing legal education seminars, professional education activities and state and local civic affairs.
