Bruce Bloomingdale is a partner in the Capital Markets Group, residing in the London and New York offices. His practice is focused on representing financial institutions and corporations in connection with a wide range of international finance transactions, including cross-border securitisation, asset-based finance, leveraged finance and other hybrid financings. Bruce has extensive cross-border knowledge and transactional experience throughout the Americas, Asia and the European Union.
Bruce is consistently recognised by industry publications and independent commentators, such as Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, as a leading securitisation, structured finance and securitisation lawyer. He was recently named among the one's to watch in 2016 by the Corporate LiveWire Legal Awards.
Clients are impressed by Bruce's ability to negotiate the details of the securitisation but understands what is important from a business perspective. (Chambers UK 2014). Legal 500 UK 2013 remarked that Bruce's team is appreciated for its excellent service, extensive industry knowledge, good teamwork and value for money, and that Bruce himself is thorough in his analysis. Chambers UK 2013 remarked that he is very user-friendly and massively knowledgeable. His client service is also impeccable. He has great respect in the market and is well known as one of the best securitisation lawyers around, adding that he thinks outside the box, provides different possible options and different avenues to explore. He is unbelievably hard-working and clever. In 2013, Chambers UK noted that Bruce is an absolute superstar and clients said we worked with him on very complicated transactions but he has the technical ability to make people understand clearly what is going on. Bruce understands our business. There are two lawyers in that field we rely on and Bruce is one of those two. (IFLR 1000 2012). Bruce is the best, always giving clear, concise advice and getting the best results time and time again (Legal 500 2012); very experienced (Legal 500 2011); he lives and breathes his clients' issues, making for a very good business relationship. (Chambers UK 2011).
Bruce Bloomingdale received his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1991 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1997. He is admitted to the bar of the State of Illinois (admitted in 1997) and is a registered foreign lawyer in England and Wales.
