Bruce Wall is a senior partner in the firm's Chicago office specializing in civil litigation with an emphasis on professional negligence, product liability, premises liability, vehicular accidents, general negligence, construction and medical malpractice. He serves on the firm's Executive Committee. Mr. Wall's practice concentrates on the preparation and trying of large and complex exposure cases involving medical malpractice and product liability and he has tried numerous cases to successful verdict. Mr. Wall is a member of the Society of Trial Lawyers and ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates). Mr. Wall has extensive experience in product liability and medical malpractice litigation and has successfully defended numerous product liability and medical malpractice cases at trial. In addition to his trial experience, Mr. Wall has been retained as the attorney in high profile and very sensitive cases. Representative Experience: · Tried to verdict 45 jury trials and 75 bench trials with not guilty verdicts in six wrongful death actions, one brain damage baby case and two cases resulting in blindness. · Selected as one of only five liability catastrophic injury counsel in the State of Illinois by a major insurance carrier. · Successfully argued and obtained summary judgment on two consolidated wrongful death actions stemming from the 1993 Palatine murders at Brown's Chicken where seven employees were killed. Also successfully argued the appeal before the Illinois Appellate Court First District. · Argued before the Illinois Supreme Court in a matter which was remanded for trial and obtained a successful not guilty verdict in that case dealing with a landmark decision on the law of Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress. · Represented and defended an adoption agency in the Cook County case involving Baby Tamia, which led to landmark changes in the laws governing adoption in the State of Illinois. Mr. Wall has a wealth of experience in pre-trial litigation, including analyzing cases and developing a defense strategy. These cases included product liability actions, construction actions, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice actions and premises liability. Mr. Wall recognizes the benefits to clients of being able not only to try a case, but to reach an amicable resolution short of trial. He is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and has intimate knowledge of the intricacies of arbitrations and mediations.
