Bruce Zirinsky is the Global Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Global Business Reorganization & Financial Restructuring Practice and Chair of the firm's Global Business Solutions Group.
He has practiced in the corporate reorganization and related transactional and litigation fields for almost 40 years. During that time he has represented debtors, creditors, investors and other parties in large and complex restructurings, reorganizations, acquisitions, financings and litigations, covering a broad range of industries and issues. Bruce has played a role in the restructuring, reorganization, sale or acquisition of many large, complex businesses in the airline, telecommunications, energy, health care, manufacturing, retail, food services, financial services, real estate, rail car, shipping, forest products, petroleum, computer, media, casino gaming, and hospitality industries, among others.
Bruce's clients include Fortune 500 companies, public and private companies, commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies, asset management and investment funds, and other business enterprises. He has led a number of recent matters including the acquisitions of Crescent Realty, LandSource Communities Development and a consortium's bid to acquire Extended Stay Hotels. He is representing creditors in the American Airlines, General Motors and AbitibiBowater Chapter 11 cases and also did so in the General Growth Properties, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation and Lehman Brothers Chapter 11 cases. He also represented Bear Stearns & Co. as bankruptcy counsel in its financial rescue by JPMorgan Chase, and Northwest Airlines Corporation in its successful Chapter 11 reorganization.
Bruce was named a 2008 Dealmaker of the Year by The American Lawyer for his work managing complicated cases and transactions including the Chapter 11 reorganization of Northwest Airlines.
