Services Available

The members of our Government Contracts Section have experience in procurement for federal agencies, in the specialized courts and boards dealing with government contract cases, and in private industry. The process of selling goods and services to the federal government is governed by a complex maze of statutes and regulations. The experience of our government contracts practitioners, in all phases of this complex process, enables our firm to provide our clients with the guidance necessary to efficiently and effectively contract for the sale of goods and services to the federal government. We have assisted clients with such matters as:

Procurement: We regularly work with companies, both large and small, seeking to obtain government contract awards. Our group has represented clients in connection with the sale of goods and services to several federal agencies and bodies.

Small Business Matters: Members of the Government Contracts Section have worked with clients on a variety of small business matters. Our attorneys and professionals are familiar with small business determinations and certifications, small business set-asides and small disadvantaged business programs.

Bid Protests: Our attorneys and professionals regularly represent clients in bid protests before the Government Accounting Office, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and various federal procuring agencies. We have represented clients filing protests as well as clients that have been awarded contracts that must defend against protests filed by disappointed bidders. For example, we successfully filed a protest with the SBA on behalf of our client, challenging another company's status as a "small business." The victory was worth over $100 million.

Contract Negotiation: The Government Contracts Section advises clients on a range of contract formation issues including cost and pricing issues raised by the Truth in Negotiations Act.

Contract Performance: We work with clients to resolve the many issues that arise during the performance of a federal contract. Our attorneys and professionals seek to resolve performance issues before they result in costly and time consuming formal disputes.

Intellectual Property Rights: We advise clients about the ownership and use of intellectual property created or delivered in connection with government contracts. The Government Contracts Section, in connection with the firm's Intellectual Property Section, is familiar with the concepts of patents, copyrights, trademarks and licenses under government contracts.

Litigation and Arbitration: The Government Contracts Section has represented clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, agency boards of contract appeals and federal district and appellate courts. Our attorneys and professionals are committed to determining the most cost-effective means of achieving our client's goals.
