Diversity at Burns White LLC

Burns White recognizes the importance of fostering diversity in the legal profession. We are committed to actively promoting, achieving and maintaining an inclusive firm culture. We have a resident Diversity Committee to further our diversity initiative by implementing internal and external diversity programs. Members of this committee also are active in local and regional diversity-related organizations within the legal community, including the Hispanic Attorneys Committee and the Asican Attorneys Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Homer S. Brown Law Society.

Burns White participates in specific activities to achieve its goals, some of which include the Allegheny County Bar Association Diversity Initiative, Allegheny County Bar Association Summer High School Program and summer associate program for minority law students, as well as developing alliances with minority bar associations, hosting receptions for minority law students and encouraging its attorneys and staff to volunteer with the Career Literacy for African-American Youth (CLAAY) program of Duquesne University. The firm also publishes regular features on diversity efforts and has implemented diversity awareness into its employee orientation program.

As a result of its efforts, Burns White has been able to increase the numbers of minority attorneys and support staff in its employ, as well as increase the number of minority summer associates working at the firm.
