Practice/Industry Group Overview

Led by a former Administrative Law Judge of the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission, our Workers' Compensation group consists of attorneys and paralegals devoted exclusively to the representation of self-insured employers, employer groups and commercial insurance carriers. We have one over-arching goal: to develop creative and cost-efficient solutions in representing our clients' interests.

Increasingly, workers' compensation matters also present issues involving traditional labor law, OSHA, FMLA and the ADA. Butler Snow integrates the experience of the Labor and Employment group in these areas and is able to offer a multi-disciplinary approach in developing preventive strategies and representation in litigation.

Our workers' compensation specialists have defended multiple claims filed by former employees tantamount to an effort by the plaintiff's bar to convert workers' compensation adjudications into administrative mass tort litigation.

In addition to more typical job-related injury claims, the firm has considerable experience in defending workers' compensation claims relating to chemical exposures.

Two recent fatality investigations of Butler Snow clients by OSHA were successfully completed without citations.
