About this office:

The Firm was established by the late W.E.S. Callender, Q.C. in 1903. Callenders & Co. is the oldest and one of The Bahamas' leading Law Firms. In response to the needs of our clientele, we have expanded from our original Nassau base and now have an office in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The Firm has a complement of eight partners and nine Associates and a large staff of experienced paralegals and other personnel to compliment this team of professionals.

Although we are a large firm in The Bahamas, we continue to stress a collaborative approach to our legal practice and the development of a personal relationship with our clients. Accessibility to our clients and responsiveness to their needs are values that we feel characterize us as a firm.

The Firm has one of the broadest and most sophisticated international financial service practices in the Bahamas. We have represented many multijurisdictional banks, trust and insurance companies and mutual funds and have advised in both private and public offerings in The Bahamas and a variety of large real property transactions. With the emergence of the Internet era and the liberalization of the Telecommunications Industry, we have become experienced professionals in Telecommunications Law. The Firm also has a longstanding working relationship with Governmental Authorities and Agencies.

The Firm has been at the forefront of civil litigation in The Bahamas and has participated in numerous significant commercial cases. The litigation department is geared to undertake major litigation assignments.
