Carlos Gavilondo

Mr. Gavilondo is former General Counsel to Niagara Mohawk, National Grid’s Upstate New York Electric and Gas affiliate, and brings to the firm a wealth of experience in New York electric and gas utility operations and regulatory matters. He worked for National Grid for 11 years in roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to his role with Niagara Mohawk, Mr. Gavilondo was Vice President of Regulatory Services to National Grid’s electric company affiliates in New England. He has also served as lead counsel for matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy, the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, and for a brief period as General Counsel to Silica Networks, S.A., a telecommunications venture based in Santiago, Chile. Prior to joining National Grid, Mr. Gavilondo worked in private practice, concentrating on environmental counseling and litigation. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Gavilondo was a power generation equipment design engineer and product specialist.
