Carlos J. Bonilla practices real estate law and has been heavily involved in legal aspects and management of large scale projects. Mr. Bonilla began his career as a real estate licensee, managing an international real estate company doing business in Latin America and Asia. Mr. Bonilla represents large real estate investment groups, doing business in Canada, the United States and Costa Rica, for contracting, negotiation of investment transactions and closings. Mr. Bonilla has also worked on the acquisition and rezoning of large tracts of land in Florida; acquisition, entitlements and design of large hotel projects in Florida and has managed hotel condominium development projects, involved in all facets of acquisition, design, development, condominium law, and management of operations.
Mr. Bonilla graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 2002, and obtained an advanced degree (LL.M.) in Real Property Development in 2005. He was inducted into the Bryan Inn chapter of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity for scholastic honors where he has been an Active Life Member since 2002. He also served on the editorial board of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review.
Mr. Bonilla actively supports the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society and the University of Miami School of Law's H.O.P.E. Foundation. Mr. Bonilla is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council, in Orlando, Florida.
He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Bonilla is a Fellow of the Florida Bar Foundation.
