Overview
Carmine Tomas is a member of our Real Estate group, assisting a variety of clients with their commercial real estate needs, including private developers, Real Estate Investment Trusts, retail and financial institutions, and non-profit organizations. He conducts a diverse real estate practice by assisting clients with the purchase, finance, and sale of land; drafting and negotiating construction, design, and consultant agreements; and securing local, state, and federal permits for commercial developments.
Representative Experience
· Permitted supermarket and retail developments in communities throughout Massachusetts on behalf of The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, LLC.
· Representation of The Trustees of Reservations in connection with various land conservation matters throughout the Commonwealth, including the drafting and negotiation of perpetual Conservation Restrictions.
· Assisted National Development with the refinancing or sale of several properties within the MetroNorth Corporate Center, a 1.3 million square-foot office development in Woburn, Massachusetts.
· In connection with a hospitality client's luxury agriturism resort and residential development in Uruguay, drafted and negotiated all applicable construction, design, and consultant agreements.
· Representation of a national REIT in connection with its acquisition and sale of shopping center and mixed-use properties in several states.
· Assisted Street-Works, LLC with a $1.3 billion comprehensive urban redevelopment project in Quincy Center, Massachusetts.
· Representation of the owners of the Mount Washington Hotel and Bretton Woods Ski Resort in the sale of all hotel and resort properties.
· On behalf of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, drafted and negotiated the architecture agreements for its new office tower and conference center development in downtown Boston.
· Representation of, on a pro bono basis, Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation in connection with the permitting and multi-source financing for a 16-unit affordable homeownership development, as well as a 26-unit affordable rental development.
