Carol A. Glick practices as an associate in the Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor Rights Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. Prior to joining the firm, she served for nine years as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Dorothy Eisenberg, United States Bankruptcy Judge, at the Alfonse M. D'Amato Federal Courthouse, in Central Islip, New York.
In her position as a Law Clerk, Carol reviewed, analyzed and consulted with Judge Eisenberg regarding a variety of motions, pleadings, memoranda of law, disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, fee applications and Trustee final reports and accounts. She also attended trials, evidentiary hearings, chambers conferences and settlement conferences, and she advised members of the Bankruptcy Bar regarding Local Bankruptcy Rules, Chambers Rules and ECF procedures.
Carol gained extensive experience in bankruptcy law while working as an associate at the law offices of Glen Cove City Court Judge and Chapter 7 Panel Trustee, Richard J. McCord. Her legal experience includes Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. She has represented debtors, debtors-in-possession, creditors and the Chapter 7 Panel Trustee in bankruptcy litigation and adversary proceedings. Once again, Carol will be working alongside Judge McCord, who is now a Partner at Certilman Balin.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Humanities and Social Sciences from Adelphi University in 1987. She graduated from Hofstra University School of Law in 1990. While a law student, Carol served on the Editorial Board of the Hofstra Labor Law Journal. Additionally, she participated in the Bankruptcy Litigation Program sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
Carol is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
