Carole Piovesan is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a general litigation practice.
Ms. Piovesan received her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School. She also received her BA in Political Science from McGill University and her MSc in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries (with Distinction) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Prior to law school, Ms. Piovesan served as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Peter G. MacKay. She has also worked as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, as well as a Policy Analyst at the Canadian International Development Agency and for the international human rights organization, Inclusion International. Ms. Piovesan has worked with counterparts across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
While at Osgoode Hall, Ms. Piovesan was awarded with the Dean's Gold Key Award and the Legal and Literary Society Student Honour Award. She is also the recipient of the Inaugural Alumni of Distinction Award from the Toronto French School and the Loche Exhibition Award from the University of London.
Ms. Piovesan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the American Society for International Law. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2010.
