Carter Vance joined the firm in 2010 and is a transactional lawyer focusing on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. He has also represented lenders and borrowers in connection with senior secured lending and related matters.
Before Stites & Harbison
Prior to joining the firm, Carter practiced law with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP, in New York where he served as counsel for lending institutions, private equity clients and real estate ventures. At Fried Frank, Carter represented Forest City Enterprises, Inc., as owner of the New Jersey Nets NBA basketball team, in its financing of a new basketball arena in Brooklyn. He also represented borrowers and lenders in senior secured credit facilities totaling over $5 billion. During law school, Carter was awarded internships at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to law school, Carter worked as a technology consultant in New York City.

Carter enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His free time is usually spent outdoors, hiking and kayaking throughout the western United States and Alaska.
