Ms. Mohan's primary areas of practice are complex products liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical, environmental, and personal injury litigation. She represents multi-national Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States. She is a member of a national counsel team representing a global pharmaceutical company.
Presently, Ms. Mohan is New England Regional Counsel for a Fortune 100 company and National Counsel for a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company. Ms. Mohan has been national counsel to asbestos litigation defendants for a large part of her career. In this capacity, she has represented manufacturing companies to coordinate their asbestos litigation throughout the country, including Texas, New York, California, Oregon, Washington, the Midwest and the East Coast. She has tried cases in several states around the country, including consolidated trials with hundreds of plaintiffs. She has participated in developing strategies, both locally and nationally, for her clients for more than 24 years. Ms. Mohan is the co-defense liaison counsel for the asbestos docket in Connecticut.
Ms. Mohan is recognized as one of the most experienced asbestos defense lawyers in the Northeast and the country, having resolved thousands of cases nationally. She is called upon regularly by clients and other attorneys for her expertise on national issues and resolution of cases. Over the years, she has developed a network of relationships across the country which provides a great resource for handling the ever-changing litigation, emergent issues, and to serve as referral/local counsel.
Since 2008, Ms. Mohan has been involved in conducting the depositions nationwide of plaintiffs and treating physicians in the anti-psychotic medications litigation.
In 2008, Ms. Mohan successfully obtained summary judgment for a brand name pharmaceutical company in Connecticut.
As lead trial counsel for a global technology company, Ms. Mohan resolved hundreds of radiation cases filed in El Paso, Texas.
Ms. Mohan is a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Association, reflecting superior service of the profession. She has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Mohan was recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer for 2006, 2007 and 2011 editions in the Class Action/Mass Tort category, the only lawyer to be named in that category. In 2010, Ms. Mohan was selected as one of Connecticut Law Tribune's 2010 Women in the Law: High Achiever's Yearbook.
Ms. Mohan is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. She started the McCarter & English Hartford office in 2001 and was the managing partner of the Hartford office until 2003.
In 2011, Ms. Mohan became the first woman to serve as Treasurer for the firm. In that role she is also Chairperson of the Finance Committee.
Ms. Mohan was recently appointed to the Chief Justice's state-wide Pro Bono Task Force Committee.
