Catherine Deneke has a wide-ranging litigation practice with a strong emphasis on complex commercial litigation. Catherine has significant experience representing and advising clients such as universities, individual officers and directors, and health care companies in matters involving business torts, contract disputes and intellectual property. Her practice focuses on federal court, and she also has experience in state court in Massachusetts.
In addition, Catherine maintains a significant and active pro bono practice. Representative cases include pursuing housing discrimination claims in federal court, and representing victims of domestic violence seeking protective orders from municipal courts. She has also worked on a number of cases seeking to protect the civil rights of LGBT individuals.
Before joining Foley Hoag, Catherine worked as a clerk in a law office specializing in criminal defense and small civil disputes, taught mock trial and public speaking skills to high school students, and was a member of the University of Chicago Legal Forum.
