| Biography | Charla Moore, an experienced attorney with more than 18 years in the Family Law arena, spent the first 10 years of her legal career involved in the litigation of Family Law cases in Tarrant, Dallas and surrounding counties. Mediation became an important part of her practice after training in General and Family Law Mediation. Before her appointment as an Associate Judge in the Family Courts, she was heavily involved in both litigation and Mediation. In 2008 she resumed the practice of law and mediation with her husband of 38 years, Jim. Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995, Charla is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. She has, with her experience as a Family Law Associate Judge, a triple perspective from the bench, counsel table and the mediation process. She is intimately familiar with the judicial system from the position of Judge as well as an active advocate for clients and as a Family Law Mediator. Custody litigation, while often the most emotionally charged of Family Law cases, is also a favorite for litigation. "I prefer not to try custody cases unless they really need court Intervention, but they are certainly the most rewarding." Mediation continues to be an integral part of Charla's practice with both private referrals and frequent appointments by Family Law Judges. "I contend that most cases settled in Mediation, without the emotional and financial strain of litigation, often lead to final resolutions that do not require court intervention in later years. Listed, Who's Who in Executives & Professionals, National Register, 2005-2006. Guest Speaker: "Brown Bag Seminars," Tarrant County Bar Association; "Family Law," Texas Wesleyan School of Law, 2007.
