Charlie practices primarily in the areas of business litigation, commercial and general business law. His litigation experience includes personal injury litigation, including products liability and medical negligence actions, as well as a broad range of commercial litigation, including condemnation, trade slander, contract and real estate disputes, non-compete covenants, construction and design disputes, and the valuation of corporate stock.
Charlie has significant experience in commercial transactions, including the purchase and sale of various business assets and financing of such transactions. In real estate and development, he has been involved in matters including the creation and enforcement of covenants and restrictions for a number of subdivisions, and in zoning issues. In Charlie's general business practice, he represents financial institutions and has served as general counsel to two independent banks for more than 25 years. He assists them in formation, merger and acquisition and commercial lending transactions. Charlie also serves as general counsel for a public school district.
Charlie is a frequent presenter to members of The Missouri Bar on federal practice and procedure and domestic relations issues. He handles select domestic matters, primarily involving disputes over commercial assets, and is experienced in general family law matters.
In 1990, Charlie was appointed by then-Gov. John Ashcroft as a public member of the newly formed Missouri Real Estate Appraiser Commission. In that capacity, he helped develop rules and regulations to license and regulate real estate appraisers across the state.
