BiographyChuck Millsap was born in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1953. He has been married for 26 years, and has four children. He received a Liberal Arts degree in English from Wichita State University in 1975. In 1978 he received a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Washburn University School of Law. He is admitted to appear in the state and federal courts in Kansas, as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to specially appear in other federal district courts. After graduating from law school, Mr. Millsap spent two years working as a trial attorney in the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted criminal actions on behalf of the State of Kansas. In 1981 he entered private practice with the law firm of Joseph, Robison & Anderson. In 1992 Mr. Millsap joined Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, L.L.C., as a member. He serves on the Firm's Executive Committee. Mr. Millsap's primary area of practice is business litigation, including construction, employment, environmental, insurance and contract disputes. He also regularly works on transactional matters for business clients. Mr. Millsap enjoys Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory's highest rating for lawyers and is listed in the publication The Best Lawyers in America® under the areas of Commercial Litigation and Construction Law and in "Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers"® in the area of Business Litigation. Mr. Millsap is a member of the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations, as well as the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He was active as a CJA Panel Member (appointed criminal defense) for the Kansas federal district court from 1985 through 1998 and served on the Board of the Sedgwick County Law Library from 1992 through 2001. Mr. Millsap is the author of a Chapter entitled "Public Works Bonds and Claims" for the Kansas Construction Law Handbook, published by the Kansas Bar Association. He regularly makes presentations to local and state bar associations on matters relating to litigation.
