Charles M. Katz-Leavy

Charlie handles commercial and residential real estate transactions. He represents a variety of clients, including landlords, tenants, developers, lenders, investors, timberland companies, telecommunications companies, wind power companies, hotels, and retail establishments. Charlie has helped clients acquire, finance, sell, and lease properties. He negotiates and drafts easements and contracts, analyzes due diligence items, including title reports and zoning and land use ordinances, and advises clients on tax and financing issues. Charlie also represents clients before municipal permitting boards, in tax abatement appeals, and in the resolution of boundary and other real estate disputes. He has significant experience in negotiating and drafting cell tower leases and wind power leases and easements.

As a member of Verrill Dana’s Timberlands group, Charlie has worked on transactions involving hundreds of thousands of acres of timberlands, including the recent sale of approximately one million acres.
