Charles "Chuck" Adams, Jr., joined Adams and Reese in 1996 when he and nine attorneys from another law firm opened the firm's Jackson office. As the initial contact for the Jackson opening, Chuck led the recruiting efforts for the Jackson office. He became the full-time Managing Partner of the entire firm in 2001.
As managing partner, Chuck has been instrumental in the regional growth of our firm. He was directly involved in every phase, identifying, approaching, recruiting, negotiating, closing and integrating, of the firm's mergers and office openings in Birmingham in 2002, Nashville in 2005, Memphis in 2006 and Florida in 2009. Prior to that, he practiced for more than 25 years in business and corporate law and commercial transactions.

His significant contributions include:
· Recognizing clients' developing needs and assisting Adams and Reese attorneys and the firm to meet them.
· Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm's operations. He is frequently asked to serve on commercial arbitration engagements as a long-time member of the Commercial Disputes Panel of the American Arbitration Association.
· More than 30 years representing many creditors in bankruptcy, those buying assets from entities and individuals in bankruptcy and businesses acquiring and operating substantial business assets. He has an ability to clearly and quickly identify the "needs" of each player, conceive a proposal that optimizes meeting all the key needs and then successfully "sell" it.
· Serving as Emeritus Member of the Board of Advisors for the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program. From 1980 to 2007, he served as Chairman of the Mississippi Committee and as a member of the National Board of Advisors for several terms. In that capacity he has administered the committee that interviews personally all Mississippi applicants to Georgetown.
Since 1990, Chuck has served as President and Board Chairman of the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Jackson. The foundation has grown from total assets of about $2 million to over $12 million in that time to serve works of the Catholic Church in Mississippi.
He admires his father, who began working at age 15, became a successful businessman and business owner, valued education and made sure his three children were well educated. In his free time, Chuck plays golf, hunts deer and duck and has been an instrument-rated pilot for more than 25 years. He owns a Piper PA 32 Lance airplane.
