SHIPPING / MARITIME LAW
As is well known, Panama is located at the crossroads of the world and also has a convenient maritime legislation (since 1925) that facilitates and incentivizes the registration of vessels under our flag. This has had the result that Panama has one of the largest shipping fleets of the world.
We can advise on the registration of ships and ship mortgages under the flag of Panama and follow up on the annual fee payments to the government and generally advise on all required paperwork and legal procedures that may be involved in connection with the operation and registration of vessels.
FAMILY LAW
Our group does have experience in the field of family law. We deal with issues relating to marriage, pre-nuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, guardianship, visiting rights, adoptions and related processes and administrative procedures.
TAX LAW
Chen, Lavoi & Co. renders integral services touching upon all aspects of tax issues and tax laws and regulations of this country. We further offer tax consulting services in conjunction with a CPA firm and high level auditors. We represent our clients in administrative processes before tax authorities, both at the central government and municipal levels.
IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION
Panama has always been open to allow foreign nationals to establish themselves in our territory, as well as those companies wishing to invest in our growing economy. There are of course a number of requirements to be complied with both for tourists as well as foreign manpower coming into Panama.
Our attorneys are well qualified to deal with these issues and offer their legal and practical knowledge in everything relating to the obtainment of work permits and the type of residence permit applicable to each situation.
