Christian J. Brossard is a litigator and construction law specialist and Partner in the Montréal office of Miller Thomson Pouliot. For more than 20 years, he has been devoting his practice to both litigation and conflict resolution in connection with commercial disputes and civil law matters. He has acquired an in-depth expertise in construction law for which he is recognized by both the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada.
Mr. Brossard's wide-ranging knowledge of construction law covers all aspects, including the review and negotiation of contract documents, issues relating to calls for bids, requests for proposals and awarding of contracts, the prevention and resolution of conflicts, all claims for changes, delays, additional costs and impact costs, those for deficiencies and quality issues, legal hypothecs and construction bonds.
His areas of practice also include disputes resulting from commercial agreements and other contractual or business conflicts, product liability, professional liability and claims for damages.
Mr. Brossard acts for industrial manufacturers and distribution businesses from various industries, owners, property managers and other private and public entities with construction projects, general or specialized contractors, and equipment manufacturers. He advises them when it comes to risk management, prevention of litigation and resolution of disputes. He acts for them in negotiations, mediation and more generally for purposes of resolving their conflicts. He represents them before the Courts and arbitration tribunals. He has managed and pleaded several complex and major cases.
Mr. Brossard is regularly invited to give conferences by various organizations and associations from both the construction and the manufacturing sectors.
