Christian Meighen is a partner in our Tax Group in Montréal. His practice focuses on corporate tax and tax planning.
Mr. Meighen advises on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and national and international corporate reorganizations. He is also experienced in the tax aspects of restructuring corporations in financial difficulty. Mr. Meighen has acted for large Canadian corporations on general corporate tax issues, and on mergers and acquisitions. He has also advised on important cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Meighen has lectured at the HEC Montréal Law Faculty of Université de Montréal in the Master of Laws (taxation) program since 2003. He is a frequent speaker on tax matters at conferences and seminars and has authored or co-authored articles and presentations for Lexpert and the annual conference of the Association de planification fiscale et financeère (APFF). Mr. Meighen is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, a member of the APFF, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
Mr. Meighen completed his law degree at Université Laval in 1996 and his Masters in taxation at Université de Montréal in 2000.
He was called to the Québec bar in 1998.
