Christine Orich is of counsel at Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Indianapolis office and is a member of the Intellectual Property Department. Ms. Orich concentrates her practice in the areas of patent preparation and prosecution, patent clearance, and patent opinions, with a technical emphasis in the computer arts. Ms. Orich also has experience preparing and negotiating license agreements, information technology contracts and other technology-related agreements.
Ms. Orich's patent experience includes computer software, firmware, and hardware, electronic and electro-mechanical devices and systems, healthcare systems, devices and equipment, vehicle transmission control systems, telecommunications, business methods, and process control instrumentation. Ms. Orich's industry experience prior to law school included software development, systems analysis, and software project management.
Ms. Orich received her B.S. in system science engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and her J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington. She was a notes author and member of the editing staff of the Indiana Law Journal.
Ms. Orich is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the bar of the State of Indiana and the United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She was selected for inclusion in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of patent law, intellectual property law, and information technology law.
