As his first career was in business, Christopher D. Johnsen has the ability to approach legal issues as both a business advisor and an experienced litigator. With an eye towards achieving creative business solutions, he has represented major institutional clients in a wide range of business disputes.

Chris focuses his practice on a broad range of complex commercial litigation in multiple fora, including state and federal courts in various states at all levels, administrative agencies, and arbitration before the AAA, JAMS, and FINRA. He routinely handles a wide array of matters, including commercial disputes, energy related matters, securities actions, real property disputes, class actions, and employment matters. On the employment side, in addition to handling litigation, Chris has represented employers with respect to the drafting of employment agreements, employer policies, procedures, handbooks, and separation agreements.

Chris has handled cases from cradle to grave, including taking and defending many depositions, drafting and arguing numerous substantive motions, second-chairing two jury trials, and briefing multiple appeals. His appellate experience includes a broad range of appellate matters in the Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States, including appeals of summary judgments, jury awards, interlocutory orders, and confirmations and vacations of arbitration awards.
