Christopher Hubbard is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto. He maintains a general litigation practice which includes corporate/commercial litigation and medical malpractice. Mr. Hubbard has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal. Mr. Hubbard's corporate/commercial litigation practice includes class actions, securities litigation, insurance, shareholder disputes and oppression remedies, contractual disputes and product liability. He is a member of our National Class Actions Group and has assisted with the defence of a number of class proceedings, including class proceedings involving cross-border securities litigation, allegations of criminal interest rates, medical malpractice and the Walkerton water contamination litigation. Mr. Hubbard is also a member of our National Insurance Litigation Group and assists policy-holders with a broad range of coverage issues. Mr. Hubbard acts for the Canadian Medical Protective Association and represents physicians before the courts, the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and at Coroners' Inquests. He has spoken and written on a variety of topics, including insurance of technology risks and advertising liability insurance, directors & officers insurance, privacy legislation, toxic mould litigation, medical liability, and consent and capacity regarding medical treatment. Mr. Hubbard received his BA (Hons.) (Philosophy and Bio-Medical Ethics) from the University of Toronto in 1997. He received his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2002. Mr. Hubbard is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates' Society and the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto. |
