Recent Work / Representative Matters Plaintiff Verdict: Skilled Healthcare Group: With co-lead counsel, obtained a $677 million verdict against Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc. and 22 nursing facilities it operates in California. The post-verdict settlement included a multi-million dollar settlement payment to the class, along with a Court-ordered injunction requiring compliance with California nurse staffing laws. This case was selected by the Daily Journal as a "Top Plaintiffs' Verdict" for 2010, and was selected by The Recorder as one of its "Top Verdicts". For his participation in this case, Mr. Healey was selected as a "Trial Lawyer of the Year" for 2011 by the Public Justice Foundation.
