Biography

With particular expertise in the food and brewing industries, Chris represents employers on a full range of employee issues and disputes. He counsels clients on straightforward ways to minimize and manage their legal risks and provides day-to-day advice on compliance with varied federal, state and local laws that govern the workplace. Chris works to understand his clients' business needs and the economic forces shaping their industries.

In litigation, Chris uses his years of experience to zealously advocate for employers in lawsuits, arbitrations and administrative claims. His accomplishments include:

•Defeating allegations of discrimination, retaliation, unlawful discharge, breach of contract, family and medical leave violations, labor arbitrations and overtime denials.

Representing employers and executives in cases concerning noncompetition and confidentiality agreements.

Handling jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations and appeals.

His litigation experience extends beyond employment matters. Throughout his career, Chris has represented businesses in complex litigation in such diverse areas of the law as contracts, antitrust, insurance coverage, qui tam, Consumer Protection Act and real estate transactions.

Chris also has advised clients for more than 12 years in the area of e-discovery and has organized massive electronic document productions in response to government investigations and civil litigation. His practice includes preparing litigation holds, e-discovery planning and the preparation of document retention policies and schedules.

On behalf of Colorado's business community, Chris regularly works with and testifies before the Colorado General Assembly on proposed legislation that will affect employers and businesses.
