Experience Chris is Board Certified in Health Law by The Florida Bar. He is Of Counsel to GrayRobinson and practices in the Health Care department of the Orlando office. Chris previously served as in-house counsel at a major multi-state health care system, and has practiced in Health Law in the private law firm environment as well. His practice includes healthcare-related litigation, state and federal fraud and abuse matters, provider licensing and disciplinary issues, provider operations, regulatory analysis and compliance, and transactions involving health care providers. He has assisted numerous health care providers, including hospitals and hospital systems, pharmaceutical companies, large and small group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and individual practitioners in a wide variety of matters. Chris has reviewed numerous transactions between health care providers, including joint ventures, professional services agreements, medical directorships, recruiting agreements and space leases for compliance with federal Stark, Anti-Kickback and other fraud and abuse laws. While in-house, Chris was part of the team that successfully defended a health care system against the nationwide spate of federal class action suits against not-for-profit hospitals for allegedly providing insufficient charity care to uninsured individuals. The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed with prejudice from federal court. Background Chris M. Morrison was born in Tampa, Florida and grew up in Orlando. He graduated magna cum laude from Stetson University in 1996 with a B.A. in Political Science. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in 1999, and became a member of the Florida Bar that same year.
