| Biography | Chris Massenburg is a founding partner of Swetman Baxter Massenburg, LLC and manages its Hattiesburg, Mississippi office. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2000 from Tulane University Law School, and also achieved certification in maritime law. Just four years out of law school, Chris was invited to become an Associate Professor of Trial Advocacy at Tulane and continues to teach there today. Chris has also been invited to join the 2011 faculty of the LSU School of Law Trial Advocacy Program. Chris currently serves on the National Trial Team for two clients, and has tried cases in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. He has defended his clients in numerous multimillion dollar cases as lead trial counsel, and has secured multiple zero verdicts in jurisdictions where large verdicts are expected. Even when trial is not desired, his experience at all levels of both simple and complex litigation allows Chris to provide his clients with a comprehensive defense for their cases. Chris is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was recently selected for inclusion among Super Lawyers' 2010 Mid-South Rising Stars®. No more than 2.5 percent of all attorneys in the Mid-South states, which include Mississippi and Tennessee, receive the honor of Rising Star. Chris is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas, and his practice primarily focuses on environmental, toxic tort, products liability, intellectual property, premises liability, construction defects, and commercial trucking litigation.
