Claude Bisson, O.C., is counsel in our Litigation Group in Montréal. His practice is focussed on arbitration and alternative dispute resolution matters.
Mr. Bisson had a distinguished career as a Superior Court Judge, Chief Justice of the Québec Court of Appeal and finally as Chief Justice of Québec. During these years, he participated in several independent inquiries for the Government of Canada. He was also awarded several honorary titles during his remarkable judicial career.
After being called to the Québec bar in 1954, Mr. Bisson practised law in Trois-Riviéres where he was a Crown Attorney. He was active in the Canadian Bar Association, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade in various capacities. In January 1999, he was appointed an officer of the Order of Canada.
