Cody Gillians is an Intellectual Property associate in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office. He has experience prosecuting patent applications in the semiconductor, business methods, medical device and power systems fields. Cody also has experience in patent litigation including managing electronic discovery and motion practice.
Prior to his career as an attorney, Cody worked for nine years at IBM in Research Triangle Park as a hardware design engineer and technical project manager. In his role as design engineer, he primarily designed and tested circuit boards for high performance servers and programmed VHDL code for use on those servers. Later, as a technical project manager, he managed the development, testing and distribution of network adapters developed by Broadcom and Intel, among others, and deployed throughout IBM’s server portfolio.
