Customs Issues New Vessel Repair Duty RegulationsBryant E. Gardner, Constantine G. Papavizas, October 28, 2009 On October 20, 2009, United States Customs and Border Protection modified its regulations administering the foreign vessel repair duty to incorporate additional exemptions for repairs by the vessel's crew and repairs made in countries with which the United States has a free trade agreement.
