Biography

Cordon Baesel's practice focuses on real estate matters and environmental issues, including:

ˇ identification of strategies for compliance with sustainability and environmental metrics

ˇ development of protocols and data collection approaches to evaluate environmental claims and disclosures

ˇ documentation and regulatory compliance for real estate development, renovation and sales transactions

ˇ advice to owners leasing and selling real property for renewable energy projects

ˇ analysis and management of environmental risks in business transactions and product-sourcing

ˇ compliance and litigation advice concerning environmental contamination and remediation

ˇ Proposition 65 litigation and strategic compliance

Mr. Baesel has extensive analytical and research skills related to federal, state and local statutes, regulations, common law, guidance documents, private metrics and other sources of pertinent compliance information. He also works closely with a wide range of national and regional environmental firms to ensure clients receive legal advice based on sound and strategic technical analysis.

Mr. Baesel has written numerous articles in trade and industry periodicals regarding both general environmental issues and specialized areas of environmental analysis. He has given numerous lectures and presentations on environmental law to industry groups, professional organizations and University of California Extension classes.

Represent numerous residential and commercial clients in evaluating all manner of environmental issues for project documentation and sales transactions.

Represent manufacturers to develop data for product composition and sustainability analyses.

Direct ongoing renovation projects for developers and resort operators to manage and allocate environmental risks.

Advise sellers of contaminated real property with respect to environmental matters and risk allocation.

Analyze emerging and existing regulations governing chemical composition of consumer products.

Defend developers and manufacturers in environmental litigation.
