Corinne Lacey McCann is an associate at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer with the Business/ Commercial Litigation Team and Appellate Practice Group. Ms. McCann practices and appears both in New Jersey state and federal courts. Ms. McCann also appears on behalf of clients in mediations and arbitrations.
Ms. McCann has handled a wide variety of business litigation matters. She focuses her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and litigation involving fiduciary duties; shareholder derivative actions; officer and director liability; brokerage and commission disputes; partnership disputes; commercial landlord/tenant disputes; copyright/trademark infringement actions; confirmation, vacation and modification of arbitration awards; redevelopment; contracts; insurance policies; environmental issues; real estate for lease and sale; construction; fraud; and legal malpractice defense.
In addition, Ms. McCann's appellate practice is diverse. She has represented clients on appeal of matters that include business disputes; personal injury actions; criminal defense matters; municipal appeals; administrative and regulatory appeals; DWI appeals; divorce litigation; and other family law matters.
Before joining the Firm, Ms. McCann was a judicial clerk from 2008 to 2011 for the Honorable Garrett E. Brown, Jr., Chief Judge, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Ms. McCann also served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Clarkson S. Fisher, Jr., Appellate Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, from 2007 to 2008.
While attending Seton Hall University School of Law, Ms. McCann served as an intern in the United States Attorney's Office and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. She also worked for the Juvenile Justice Clinic appearing in family court in defense of juvenile offenders. In addition, Ms. McCann served as Senior Note Editor and was a published member of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. She also was the chairperson of the Public Interest Fellowship and Loan Repayment Program's fundraising efforts and the Women's Law Forum. Finally, Ms. McCann donated her time to advocacy programs in support of domestic violence victims.
Prior to law school, Ms. McCann worked for several years in the hospitality industry at the Jersey Shore, during which time she contributed to the management and print and web-based marketing efforts of an Inn in Spring Lake.
Ms. McCann is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Civil Trial Bar, Federal Practice and Procedure, Young Lawyers, and Women In Practice Sections. She is also a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, and the Monmouth County Bar Association. In addition, Ms. McCann is a member of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, a volunteer for the New Jersey Law Firm Group mentorship program, and a participant in the Lifland Inn of Court, a federal practice and intellectual property Inn. Finally, Ms. McCann is a member of the Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce.
