Courtney joined the firm in 2009 as an associate with the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group. Her practice involves working on multi-million dollar preference analyses, drafting proofs of claim, and matters involving complex and developing areas of creditors' rights.
From September 2008 through August 2009, Courtney clerked for The Honorable Terrence Boyle, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. While at Wake Forest University, Courtney was a Justice Joseph Branch Scholar and a regional finalist in the AAJ Trial Team. She was selected as a member of the Wake Forest Trial Bar and, as a participant in the Zeliff Trial Competition, she received an honorable mention. From 2005-2008, Courtney served on the Wake Forest Domestic Violence Advocacy Committee as an advocate for victims of domestic violence.
