Craig Raabe, a litigation partner, has tried many complex civil and criminal cases. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. By appointment of the chief judge of the Second Circuit, Mr. Raabe has served on the Reappointment Committee for Connecticut's federal defender, and the chief judge of the Connecticut district court appointed him to chair the United States Magistrate Reappointment Committee in Connecticut. A real estate developer had brought a $100 million breach of contract case in connection with a $1 billion waterfront development. The jury returned a verdict in favor of our client on all counts. - Served as cocounsel for United Technologies Corporation in $6 billion patent infringement action relating to jet engine fan blade technology. Court entered summary judgment for our client. - Serving as national products liability trial counsel for Fortune 100 company. - Successfully represented Connecticut's commissioner of Public Works in a federal corruption investigation that led to the resignation and federal conviction of Connecticut's governor. Mr. Raabe was able to negotiate a declination of prosecution for our client. - Served as lead counsel for Connecticut's former Senate minority leader in an investigation by the Connecticut General Assembly's Bipartisan Committee of Review. - Obtained an acquittal for a waste hauling corporation after an eight-week federal antitrust trial. The government had alleged a customer and geographic market allocation scheme. - Successfully defended a corporate executive in a three-week federal trial in which the government had alleged contracting fraud. The government claimed that our client had engaged in a scheme to defraud the government in connection with the sale of rocket fuel. The jury took less than 30 minutes to acquit. - Represented Connecticut's commissioner of the Department of Transportation in an Election Commission investigation. In connection with an investigation into fundraising practices, Mr. Raabe negotiated a stipulated resolution with the commission that did not include any findings of knowing violations. - Representation of a significant regional convenience store/gas station chain in trial concerning commercial lease disputes. - Representation of print industry manufacturer in complex federal action involving federal and state antitrust claims, patent-related claims, and theft of trade secrets and computer crimes allegations. - Prosecution of a patent infringement action for a major wholesaler/integrated supplier in relation to our client's Internet procurement method patent. - Representation of a medical product company in multidistrict federal litigation against international defendants involving trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and unfair trade practices. Secured permanent injunctions against multiple defendants to protect the client against trademark violations related to a patented life-saving medical product. - Represented subcontractor designing and manufacturing a weapons bay door system for a F-22 Raptor project in connection with contract breach by its subcontractor. Simultaneously obtained dismissal of subcontractor's federal action, and defended dismissal on appeal, while prosecuting breach of contract and business tort claims in state court in a different jurisdiction. Negotiated advantageous settlement for client that enabled it to meet its contract obligations to the project. - Defended United Technologies Corporation against contract, tort, and trade practice claims by an Argentine sales representative arising from contract termination. Our client asserted the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) as a defense. A five-week trial to a federal jury resulted in a highly favorable verdict for our client. - Prosecution and defense of patent infringement action in the Eastern District of Texas for a worldwide supplier of gas generation systems regarding multiple patents in the coal mine firefighting industry.
