Biography

Professional Experience

Mr. de Recat is a member of the Firm's Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Firm's Trial Practice. His practice focuses on complex litigation and he has a wide range of experience handling commercial, environmental, antitrust, insurance, intellectual property, patent/trademark, and related business matter disputes for national and international clients. Mr. de Recat is an experienced trial attorney often called on to handle trials for high-profile, high-risk or "bet the company" cases. He has also argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts, including the California Supreme Court.

In addition to his trial practice, Mr. de Recat regularly counsels clients in connection with performing regulatory compliance, due diligence and, where necessary, negotiations with regulatory or enforcement agencies involving Attorney Generals, Federal Trade Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Justice and others. Several of his clients are Fortune 100 companies, including petroleum companies, insurance companies, manufacturers, chemical companies, real estate developers and financial institutions. Mr. de Recat served as Special Litigation Counsel to the Democratic National Convention Committee 2000. Mr. de Recat is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in "America's Best Lawyers," "Who's Who" and "Southern California's Super Lawyers."

Mr. de Recat is a frequent speaker on trial/litigation issues and has authored several articles.
