About this office: The firm was founded in 1980 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As firms go, we are a relatively young organization, yet we offer experience that spans a full range of litigation and commercial transactional needs. Crawford Lewis attorneys have earned that experience in complex litigation and business transactions and it is this expertise that makes the firm the first choice for so many business and individuals. Scott Crawford and James Lewis are Louisiana natives. Both are admitted to practice in multiple State and Federal jurisdictions and have practiced before State and Federal District Courts and Appellate Courts throughout the United States. Additionally, each has considerable experience in corporate transactional work including disclosure and continuing disclosure work under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934, involving both taxable and tax exempt offerings. Combining this litigation and transactional experience provides clients with a unique perspective towards all aspects of the law, and provides an additional degree of confidence and security. Although our traditional emphasis has been in the areas of Federal and State Securities Law, Professional Indemnity and Insurance Defense, and corporate transactional work, the firm has diversified significantly and now offers clients and experienced, diverse and successful group of capable lawyers.
