Curtis Thomas is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on business and commercial litigation as well as labor and employment law. He counsels clients in the areas of contract disputes, tort claims, employment discrimination claims and other employee-related disputes.
An honors graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Curtis served as an articles editor for the Oklahoma Law Review and is the author of "Cat's in the Cradle: Tenth Circuit Provides Silver Spoon of Subordinate Bias Liability in EEOC v. BCI Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Los Angeles," 61 Oklahoma Law Review 629 (2009). Curtis is also the recipient of the Comfort Scholarship as well as the American Jurisprudence Award in Alternative Dispute Resolution and is a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity.
Prior to attending law school, Curtis worked for two years for a local nonprofit that advocated for the interests of cities and towns in Oklahoma. He was responsible for assisting cities and towns in understanding the various legal requirements with which they were required to comply. Curtis also edited the league's Handbook for City and Town Officials and spoke to various groups of municipal employees and elected officials on applicable laws such as the Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act as well as municipal elections and municipal finance.
