About this office:
Curtis established the Istanbul office in 2007 to provide legal counsel to clients operating in the Middle East, South Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Situated on the main thoroughfare of Istanbul's midtown business district, the office coordinates closely with Curtis teams in Almaty, Astana, Dubai and Muscat to advise multinational corporations and financial institutions, sovereign entities and private companies.
The office's Turkish and U.S.-qualified lawyers advise clients in general corporate and commercial matters, as well as infrastructure and public projects, international funds and international arbitration. We have extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and commercial contracts, and are best known for our work on complex, cross-border transactions. Our lawyers are well versed in the full range of corporate and regulatory issues involved in large-scale infrastructure development projects, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate, commercial contracts and leases.
Our broad base of expertise covers several areas, such as energy, oil and gas in particular; infrastructure; pharmaceuticals; technology; manufacturing; transportation; hospitality; and financial services. Members of the office also represent clients in international arbitration matters ranging from complex multiparty, multijurisdictional disputes to mid-sized commercial arbitrations and mediations.
The attorneys in the Istanbul office are admitted to practice in New York or Istanbul and the office is a foreign law partnership regulated by the Turkish Bar Association. It is affiliated with the Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (New York) legal entity.
